Grounds for Therapy

Grounds for Therapy is committed to helping you brew resilience. We believe in providing a warm and inviting space where you can explore your mental health journey. Our approach is centered around integrating therapeutic practices into your daily life, making the process effortless and accessible. We want to empower you to take charge of your mental well-being and embrace a life of balance and fulfillment.

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling offers a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Expect to work collaboratively with a trained professional to set goals, gain insights, develop coping strategies, and work towards positive change. Each session is tailored to your unique needs and concerns, providing support and guidance as you navigate challenges and discover new ways to thrive.

In your first session, you can expect your therapist to ask questions to get to know you better, such as about your background, reasons for seeking counseling and what you hope to achieve. They’ll also explain confidentiality and the counseling process. This will be done using an intake assessment. It’s a chance for you to discuss your concerns and goals while beginning to build a trusting relationship with your therapist.

Your follow-up sessions will likely involve a discussion about how you’ve been since your last session. You might explore any progress or setbacks, delve into any challenges you’ve faced, and work together to continue addressing your goals and concerns. It’s also a time to revisit any strategies or techniques discussed previously and to explore new approaches if needed.

Clinical Supervision

Clinical supervision for therapists involves regular meetings between a supervisor and a therapist-in-training or a practicing therapist. During these meetings, the supervisor provides guidance, support, and feedback on the therapist’s clinical work. They may review cases, discuss therapeutic techniques, address ethical dilemmas, and offer professional development opportunities. The goal is to enhance the therapist’s skills, ensure ethical practice, and promote client welfare. Supervision typically follows a structures format but also allows for reflection and exploration of the therapist’s personal and professional growth. Please note that add that Sarah is a LMHC supervisor only.
